Job Title: MRO Services Overhaul Base Engineer

Working Pattern: Onsite

Working Location: San Antonio, TX

An exciting opportunity for an MRO Services Overhaul Base Engineer has arisen. As a member of the Rolls-Royce MRO Service team you will play a key role to help drive the business performance of MRO Services.  The Overhaul Base Engineer is a support position within the MRO Services organization aligned to a MRO Supplier Management Team.  It is a key resource for the Overhaul Base Manager (OBM) and will interface with the MRO service provider as an embedded resource.  The ideal candidate must be able to coordinate many different kinds of operational activities in a diverse technical environment.

What you will be doing:

  • Expand and improve the business relationship through a professional on-site presence and participation in key meetings
  • Coordinate interface activities between the global MRO Services organization and the MRO service provider
  • Guide the creation of workscopes in accordance with the relevant Engine Management Plan (EMP)
  • Coordinate transmission, organization, and administration of shop data and electronic invoice data
  • Ensure compliance to service provider agreements and customer contract requirements
  • Provide initial review of engine shop visit invoices to verify the scope of work, general accuracy, and adherence to agreements and policies (if required)
  • Participate in hardware dispositioning, engine system troubleshooting, and failure investigations in support of the MRO service provider
  • Report, register and review quality problems and support any related investigations

Basic Requirements:

  • Associate degree and 4+ years of experience in an aviation discipline, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of experience in an aviation discipline, OR
  • Master’s degree, OR
  • JD/PhD, OR
  • 6+ years of experience in an aviation discipline in lieu of a degree

Preferred Requirements:

  • Knowledge and understanding of gas turbine maintenance and repair processes and procedures
  • Familiarity with airworthiness regulations
  • Prioritize, work independently or in a team environment with a strong customer focus
  • Develop and maintain relationships with shop personnel
  • Understand and communicate technical details and solve complex technical issues
  • Ability to demonstrate strategic ability, problem solving, and decision making
  • Experience working with multiple business functions, both technical and non-technical
